Interesting article. According to this study, the divorce rate of those over age 50 has more than doubled in the last 20 years while the rate for the younger generation has leveled off. I think people see themselves as more independent (especially after becoming an empty-nester) and the stigma of a divorce in society today is virtually nonexistent. The divorce rate across the country is 41-50 %.
